Does anyone know the mileage limit for the 01M01 recall?

Thanks,

Tim

I want to think someone said it was 75k or so. I searched a little but didn't find much

75k I think. Call a couple dealer service depts. and one will probably help.

75k is the stated mileage, but my dealer told me Ford "quietly" extended it to 100k if you ***** loud enough.

7 years or 100,000 miles from the original warranty start date.

Whats the 01m01?

Extended warranty program for timing chain cassettes (or is it the camshaft tensioners? - can never remember which was covered by this and which by 00M12) in SOHC engines built until 2000.

00M12 was the tensioner and the intake gaskets. 01M01 was for the chains and cassettes.

Thanks Eneurb! I'll try and drill it into memory so I don't forget. Unfortunately, seems harder to remember as I get older!

Lately I'm dealing with so many of these... seems like they all fail in waves.

I had 00M12 done at 65,000 miles. I'm now at 82,000 and they sound worse now than before they did them the first time.

You've probably got a problem with the cassettes. Those weren't touched on 00M12.

And they are covered to 100K under 01M01?

Yep...

Is the 01M01 a silent recall similar to the 00M12? What are the specific's?
(model years covered, milage limits, etc)

Thanks

01m01 was only for 97' and 98' oom12 was from 97' to 01'

Yep... you're right... 01M01 covers the front cam chain guide on 1997 and 1998 model years only... that is not to say that I haven't seen this problem on newer SOHC engines...

Well, my X has 77k miles on it and is making the Cold Start rattle (diesel-like) noise. I did make this complaint to my local dealer a few months back (when the seat bolts where recalled) and they said the noise was NOT loud enough and not to worry. Well, it rattles like a **** now!

Anyone have a hard copy showing that the 01M01 is covered until 100k miles. I would like to print it out and take it to my local dealer.

If the noise goes away you most likely need 00m12 recall but mileage limit is 72k on it also there it a time limit on both recalls to 7yr or 100k warr on 01m01 from start date you may be out.
