So, the body lift has been a success on a 2005 ST. No problems until now. The latest is my steering wheel does a chatter midway between wheels being straight and full turn when I turn right. I can feel it in the top part of the column, almost where the shifter is. it even does it when the wheel returns back to "top dead center". I hope that the lift isn't related, but if anyone has any insight please let me know.
i did an add-a-leaf torsion twist and leveled it out by lifting the front 2" while gaining 1.75" in the rear.
a lil advice sport tracs can roll on 31X10.5 tires stock which is approxamately .5" to 1" of lift. so depending on what lift you choose you can add a 1" in tire for each inch in lift
His setup is really nice and functions well, somewhere i think i have a few pics of it on the RTI ramp, but IIRC he paid a shop to do it (may have just been the springs though, cant remember for sure now)

The chatter you speak of, is it more of a squeak or something? Mine does something similar on both directions of turning. Minor, and it feels like it disappears at times..

Yes its some where between a "chattery squeak". I'm not sure how long you've had this same issue, but I've had 5 explorers and not one of them has done this until now that I've installed the PA-BL. I'm going to open up my steering column covers and see if it needs some grease in there, or just try to isolate where its coming from.
BTW what size tires are you running? Thinking about 35"s. I'v got a total of about 5 1/2 inches of lift from the body and suspension.
You can run 35s with the TT/SL and BL lifts just fine. Only takes a little bit of trimming but its on the inside of the wheel wells so not really noticeable. Also the truck flexes just fine with them. Your speedo will be thrown off a good bit though. Look at the there "35 inch KM2s installed!!" or something to that nature.
I have an 01 Explorer Sport 2dr, can you guys confirm what the Superlift kit part number is for me? Im looking for just the front end kit with shocks preferably. Eventually Ill ditch the torsion bars and go with Fox Emulsion coilovers perhaps, cuz i cant stand the ride of the torsion bars especially with em cranked up. With the torsion twist you end up goin thru ball joints pretty quick and it does wear the CVs alot worse then it would with the superlift kit but I am still running my original front axles(half-shafts) at 325k and I've prolly had my TT since 180k, my front diff does need to come out for an upgrade and rebuild when I do my superlift and ill prolly replace axles too, you def need to replace the upper control arm bolts with cam bolts so you can align Caster/Camber a little better and theirs a company called BTF fabrication that makes a couple of upper control arms that are far superior in quality than the moogs i keep getting for the grease fittings however the BTF fab uppers are pretty pricey but I think I've gone thru 3 or 4 moog upper control arms because of the ball joints wearin out primarily cuz i didn't stay on top of greasing them no big deal. Plus the BTF fab uppers have a really good uni joint of some sort and they will give me more clearance for when I swap to coilovers, Im waiting to do my coilover swap till after the superlift kit so that I can figure out what length shock and spring to go with. Otherwise I would do it right now, I need to get the coilover brackets from the guy that makes him before he stops lol. And I wanna get my hands on one of these Superlift front end kits before you cant find em anymore. As for the rear end I already have 2.5 inch good quality lifting shackles. I did replace my stock leaf springs with some Dorman leaf springs I got off Amazon and we all know how much these Explorers sagass in the rear well I measured the rear ride height b4 and after I installed these Dorman springs and their was no change in ride height, its like Dorman engineered their leaf springs off a couple of worn out Ford leaf springs. I was looking at custom 1 inch lift leaf springs with whatever spring rating I wanted but they wanted too much money so I went with the Dormans unfortunately. So nobody make that mistake lmao. I would like to get the custom leaf springs with the 1 inch lift so that the ride is a lil nicer in the rear but has the strength to stay decently level if theirs a heavy trailer attached. Then Ill just do my Spring Over Axle Swap in the rear when I do my Superlift front end kit, then Ima do a 1 inch or a 3 inch body lift then prolly some bigger better tires. And I am gonna have a custom driveshaft made for the front and rear courtesy of the Axle Exchange in North Jersey. They did a real good job on a shaft for my cobra. The price of the Superlift front telescoping driveshaft with the double u joint is ridiculously priced and im confident the Axle Exchange could build a better shaft for prolly about half the price.
