Has anyone made or seen a stealth box/enclosure for a 12" subwoofer? I've been eyeballing my rear storage compartment as a great place to put my sub, but can only find posts where people have installed 10" subs. It looks like a little trimming could let you fit a bigger sub. Any ideas?

Yes, you can. I saw one on ebay a long long time ago that was home-made fiberglass. It only protruded into the cargo area an inch or two. It is not possible to keep it flush with the interior wall like a true stealth box. I looked into doing one myself and its gonna be alot of work.

Cool, do you remember what they called it so I can look for one to use as an example? I've only ever found the 10" boxes like MTX makes. Also, does anyone have a dual sub set up in both sides of the rear cargo area? :navajo:

i have a home made stealth box w/ a w1 JL audio 10. the JL only requires like 1.5 cubic feet of air. my box is more then 2. i could definitely glue and screw a couple 3/4 inch pieces of partical board and have a 12 in there. JL w0 is just as good and only 200w will pound it. Now the other side compartment has the gas filler and a computer and if equipped the water resevoir for the rear window. probably possible, but alot of work. I might be full of ****, but i dont think so :p:

oh yeah hi neighbor, just noticed durham, now thats close. Go Wolverines!

No one that I know of has done this, though, I do intend to do something similar with my truck. Though I'll be using 10" Kicker Solo's, the square ones.

On the passenger side though, as I'm sure you know, the gas filler neck takes up a fair amount of the space a sub could fit in. The back of the box would almost certainly have to be fiberglass to even fit.

Ya, sounds like way too much work for not that much punch. I'm just tired of moving my sub box every time I need to lay down the back seats and carry stuff. Maybe I'll just go with one of those 10" boxes sometime in the future. :navajo:

It wasnt called anything... it was home-made and there was just one. I had a bunch of pics of it but i lost all pics in the "great pron virus of '03" ordeal. :p:
