1992 Civic DX Hb Radio on no sound???

1992 DX Hb, AM/FM/Casette, 5MT, manual lock crank window no PS (bare bones), deck powers on and can find stations, but can't get any sound to come out for the life of me. any ideas? will pull deck to see if something came undone back there. its not intermittent connection, since going over bumps, hitting dash etc doesnt work to make anything happen, so either something came fully undone, or i cant think what else? do these have a separate amp?

I had a delphi radio do that, it was made in 2019. I swapped it out with another identical unit and I've got sound again.

works somewhat intermittent connection on the connector to the HU. slam the dash a few times and it works. both speakers shot and do nothing, so put an extra 2" in just to hesr the basics... yes on one side not both
