Hi...I have been looking for front seats for my 91 2dr eddie. I have been looking for 1st gen power seats only. Which seats can I use? Can I use 2nd or 3rd gen? Any help thanks.

Yeah I thought so too that 1st and 2nd gen seats are interchangeable without modification.

I currently have a 91 Eddie Bauer Explorer and me and my dad bought a 94 Eddie Bauer Explorer for parts (Mainly the seats).

The seats in my 91 were manual with the electric lumbar support and the ones in the 94 were all electric (raises/lowers/forward/back).

I was excited about getting them in and i pulled both the drivers seat out of both cars out and put the 94 in my 91 to find out the floor design is different. The 91 has a gradual slope and the 94 has a Sharp dropoff.

Needless to say they didnt swap without mods and i dont wanna tear into floor of my car.

Hope this helps:thumbsup:

will this work?

Hi again found a 93 4 door eb at junkyard. The seats look the same. Will the 4 doors front seats fit in my 2 door? Will the 4 doors front seats fold forward like my 2 doors? The back seats look the same. Hope someone can help me. Want to hit junkyard today in 30 degree weather.

I think they fold backward you'll have to double check, I know they should work but not sure if they'll slide forward once you tilt the back forward, the fronts are the only ones that'll work.

thanks 92...been looking for seats awhile...I'm going to change if I can the back seats outta the the 93 into backseat of my 91. The center console, and hopefully the front will work...So I just make sure that the front fold forward? What if I keep my floor hardware would that make a difference. Its so hard to find leather 2 door eb seats. Ive hit 10 to 15 yards within 25 miles..lol

No the backseats from a 4door model are longer than those of a 2 door. I thought you meant just the front seats. You should be able to keep your regular hardware, I'd see though when your at a yard to see how the front seat works when tilted forward because I know my seats that were in my sport when you lifted that handle the back tilted forward and slid forward so there was more room for people to get in the back. I guess your pretty serious about replacing your seats if your going to a bunch of junkyards lol.

Thanks again 92...If it was not for you guys on the forums I would be lost...So no back seat for me today....I will make sure on the front seats if you hit latch they fold forward not back..but I will get that center console..lol..He wants 30 bucks for the front seats..boy it would be nice if they worked. Have to get my baby ready for the summer runs with the other explorers out there. Thanks again..I will still keep my eyes and ears open. PS...would others models like mountaineer or navajo work?

Once I get my camera back I'll show you the swap of 95' front and rear leather seats, Power everything (except rear) that I swapped into my 94'
They bolted up right and have pretty good ergonomics.
I like it because I have rear headrests now, the 91-94 do not.

I didnt know about that slope? huh. thats probally Maybe safety issue or sumtin.:dunno:

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe all 1st and 2nd gens will work so 91-01 4drs. Search the site and you'll find it. I know it's been asked/answered before.

Having the same thoughts... anyway try looking at innerauto for car parts

good luck

Yup. They're a definite fit when you reuse your stock seat tracks.

Yea at CrazyRays They tryed 2 charge extra fer the "tracks".
So I just put em back in the joint...

still confused...

I'm having a similar problem. The previous owner of my girlfriends '91 EB replaced the front seats and butchered the power seat wiring in the process.

I got a set of manual adjust seats from a '94 only to find out the floorpan is different in the '91. The only '91 model I can find locally has a split bench and she doesn't want to lose the center console. Can I use '91 seat tracks (if I can find any) on the '94 seats?

I also can't figure the floor pan change. Hell, my '91 Mustang can use any seat from '79 to '04 with no mods....
