ok now Ive seen this alot before 2 of the same mufflers but on one pipe. What would this do? increase back preasure? make a deeper throatier sound? I don't know but has anyone else done this or seen this before? I saw it on an impala It had true dual exhaust and 4 mufflers, 2 on each pipe! now please tell me if this is safe to do on a 98 sport SOHC and what effects it will have. Thanks!! and yes if its safe I plan on having 2 cherrybomb extremes or pros put on my x.

I think it is not 2 mufflers, it is 1 muffler and 1 resonator. Manufacturers do it to create the sound they want.

it also done in some cases when the manufacturer wants a vehicle to ultra quiet like Linclons Caddies etc.

I thought about doing this for a while on my OHV, it wouldn't hurt anything, the only thing it would do is quiet down the exhaust. What are your goals for an exhaust? Deepness? Loudness? Performance?

Dan

no this impala was all custom made and it said flowmaster on all four of the mufflers and Im no idiot I know what resonaters are and look like.

Dan, my goal for the exhaust is to have the perfect balance of deep throaty rumble and loudness. Though I'll take loudness over rumble for sure. And Ive seen your truck on youtube and its great. Im going with cherrybombs too. Can you make a video of your truck but with higher RPM revving please? because you dont really rev it too high in both videos and well... Id really love to hear what it sounds like at High RPM revving because I cant get my exhaust until its summer time... or hotter out. And I am so eager.

Cherrybombs and glasspacks may be illegal in your area, and you might get by for a while but one day a neighbor complains or you get pulled over for something and get a fixit ticket.

On the '72 El Camino I had the sound was fantastic, with 2-1/4" exhausts all the way back and Flowmasters. I think what helped most was keeping the last few feet straight out the back.

As mentioned before dual mufflers are to keep it quiet, on cars where one really long muffler will not fit. I remember my Dad's old '57 Chrysler wagon, 392 hemi and factory dual exhaust. I helped him change those mufflers out several times, and they were close to 4' long.

if its sound and power your looken for then do what i do take the catilitc converter off then poke it through to make it free flowing then put it back on cause i know in canada we need the cat for inspection lots around here do it sometimes you get a better sound-not all the time but you do gain a few extra hp nothing to brag about but a few lol

thanks guys cherrybombs are legal around us and besides you should hear my neighbors BMW and my dads camaro haha so no ones gona call the cops around my area. I'm probably not gona poke out my cats, I like to stay legal but thanks for the advice.

Glasspacks maybe illegal, but Cherrybomb makes other mufflers as well. They are changing their lineup around for the better. Everyone hears the name cherrybomb and thinks glasspack, I do not have a glasspack. I will see what I can do about getting another video up, the weather is supposed to be cold and snowy the next few days, so it may be a few days until I can do so. I would look at either the pro or Elite series mufflers. If you want louder, then go Pro, but I'm thinking the Elite may be a bit deeper.

Thanks Dan. I think you and me are the only ones who know that cherrybomb makes chambered mufflers too haha
