Since having my 22"s fitted, I have noticed that there is a little bit of rubbing going on up front on full lock, and I would also like the car to have a meaner stance. I am gonna get some 2" (45MM) wheel spacers made, has anyone gone this wide before ? Any drawbacks or possible concerns ?

Cheers

Man I really wouldn't do that. People will chime in here and say "i have run spacers with no problems", but running a 22" rim AND that big of a spacer will put a pretty incredible stress on your entire front suspension. Plus the only way to make it work is if the spacer had new lugs on it. In my opinion, and many people disagree with me, but spacers are pretty dangerous.

I think ya can get away with 2" on a straight axle, however I would not go over 1 and 3/4, on the front of an Explorer and you will get as many opinions on this as people that respond, I ran them on my wrangler for 4 years and now my "X", they are hub centric and I keep close eye on them making sure they are torqued properly, I find the "X" handles alot better, but again make sure you are prepared to follow simple safety checks on a regular basis.
