2002 EXPLORER Key Programming

I have obtained a blank key for my 2002 Explorer XLT and will have it cut by a local hardware store. Can anyone assist with the corect sequence to program this new key? I do have two originals available.

Insert the first factory key and turn it to the on (accessory) position and wait till the check engine light goes out. Turn to off position. Repeat with the 2nd factory key. Finally do the same procedure with the 3rd unprogrammed key. It should have these steps located in your owners manual as well.
