Programming the micro chip inside key
I was wondering if anybody knows how to program a new key so that it can start your truck. I have a 1999 explorer and recently purchased a spare key from the dealer ($29.95) it has a chip inside that needs to be programmed. I was told to look at my manual for programming instructions, unfortunately the manual says you need to have 2 keys that work in order to program a third or more. Does anybody know how to program the key when you only have one working key. Dealer charges like $50.00 to do this. Thats on top of the $29.95 for the key.
