2002 Ford Explorer XLS 2 wheel drive (P235/70R16)

Okay I am new to this so bear with me. I own a 2002 Ford Explorer XLS 2 wheel drive (P235/70R16). I want to put on some good mud tires and possibly a lift. Mud tires are bigger, so can this be done or does any have same vehicle with bigger tires added? Thanks for the help in advance. -Roland

The biggest tire that you can fit without a lift is 32" so 265/75/16. I have a set of all terrain tires but for some reason I got them on the stock size. Mistake looking back now.
