Hello everyone,
I have a 2008 Ford Explorer XLT V6. About three months ago, I had the transmission unit repaired (replaced front seal). Unfortunately, the original wiring harness was damaged during the process, so I had to replace it with a used one.
Since then, I have been noticing an issue when shifting the gear from Park (P) to Reverse (R), it feels very hard and the vehicle shakes suddenly.
Then I have ordered a new wiring harness from Amazon.
If anyone has any pictures or diagrams of the wire connections based on the color codes, I would really appreciate it if you could share them with me. Your help would mean a lot.
Thanks....

Harsh reverse is the only issue now, every time from shifting into R? No DTC's?
No reverse issues before changing the front seal?

TFS...
Yes. Every time I shift the gear lever from 'P' to 'R', there is a clunking sound coming from the gearbox, and the vehicle suddenly shakes. This issue with reverse started after the transmission began leaking oil.
I have not scanned my vehicle yet, I’m waiting another two weeks to take my vehicle in for service. I will share an update here after that..

Holy cow, what a difference in $$$

I think the quality might be different 🤷‍♂️. What I received from Amazon was manufactured in China. But there's no doubt — almost everything is made in China these days....

Your problem would not possibly have anything to do with the harness. Check your universal joints.

There's also a mount for the transmission that's known to give clunking sounds. I'm not familiar with it, but do your research and check it out. If possible watch the transmission and driveshaft when someone shifts park-forward-reverse and see what's moving...
