Ok. I've found a 2018 Police Utility Interceptor (PUI) AWD with 76k miles, 7583 engine hours, 5441 idle hours. 10 PM's documented on carfax. $17,000.
I am wondering if anyone in here has an opinion on if this is a good deal.
I plan on having a mechanic do a pre-purchase inspection before I move forward.
I'm new to the explorers and have some preconceived ideas about the benefits of finding a low mileage, well maintained PUI.
I have done some research and based upon what I saw, 2013-2017 were years to avoid.
I also tried to compare civilian Base (although FWD) models and I can't find anything close to this price (within 3 to 4k) in my area.
I posted this information on a Facebook group called Ford Police Interceptor Sedans and have had several people say this is a bad deal.
What makes this a bad deal?
Any input from the subject matter experts in here would be greatly appreciated!
Also, can anyone tell me what I'm looking at in the picture?
