- 1998 explorer sprt 2dr4wd
Recentyl bought 98 explorer sport, 2dr, 4wd, 5 speed. Looking to install a body lift, probably 3''. I picked up 4 tires and rims, 33's bf goorichs, and have a stock explorer. I want to install the lift so i can fit them, and just so i can have the body lift. Ive researched it awhile ago, and actually had a website with step by step instructions and pictures of what modifications actually needed to be done to make the ranger lift fit the explorer, yet i lost the website so im disappionted because now i forget everything it said and have no idea what to do once i order my lift. Is it a complicated process? I dont have many mechanical skills, but some understanding of them at least, i will probably be getting it done by a local mechanic or someone i know that has a garage and such. I am seeking the small things i will need to change like brakeline extentions? steering? welding? drilling? brackets? bumbers?...i remember all these thigns from the other site i had at once, i was jsut wondering if someone knew of a site like that so i can use it as a reference while installing it, or if anyone here has enough knowledge about them and could hook me up with some information on what exactly to do once i get it, because i dont want to purchase it if i dont know how to rig it on, seems reasonable ehhna? So if someone or anyone has anythign to help, related or not related to what i asked here , info is well appriciated. Oh and i also know, after the 3'' it might still not fit the tires from what i read here, in that case, what would be the next best thing to do to get them to fit, leafs, tt? (dono waht it is but seem alot of it here) or the shackles....whoever understands what where im coming from please reply =) thanks
