Just wondering, is there a company that makes aluminum 302 heads that you don't have to sell your first born son for? I'm not looking for an all out racing head that has very large valves and ports, but for low end torque. I know there are aluminum heads out there that get the nth degree of horsepower. But all want is a high compression head. Small compression chamber around 60 CCs. The weight reduction is what I'm really looking for.

weight reduction? Holy cow man your rig could use some weight to keep in on the ground! hahaha

There are so many aftermarket heads avail for the 5 oh, you could try searching the Stang forums, also these finatics are pretty good with 5 oh performance:

I think the GT40s are some of the cheapest ones you can find.

Thanks, that's good info.

I have aluminum heads , and no you will not find any for much less than a set of new .....

Every now and they a set of AFR aluminum heads (top of the line) will go on eBay for around $700, but they won't stay long. They never set a buy it now price either. If you want a set of nice aluminum heads, expect to pay at least grand even used.

I checked ebay and they had some GT40 at $1000 buy now, new with stainless valves.

The truck weighs over two tons..............what difference in weight are aluminum heads really going to accomplish?

What truck?

Summit sells the GT-40 heads for about $1100/pair assembled. That's about what you're going to have to pay for a new set.

If you want to pay less, try going to swap meets or car shows and get a used set. You can find some bargains at places like the All Ford Nationals in Carlisle if you look, but you have to be very careful so you know what you're getting.

That's about the price range that i'm getting by checking around. I'm going to Carlisle next week to the fall show and then to Hershy the following week. But like you said buyer beware. I did not know Summit sold those.

Thanks
