4.0 ohv oil pressure sensor location?

Driver side above the oil pan, behind the power steering pump, near the motor mount. It is on a fixture and not directly only the block.

4.0 oil sender

Can a mechanical gauge be used in lieu of stock sender and gauge?
If so how do I get to the sender to remove it?
