4" Superlift Install this Weekend!!

Oh, and I talked to they guy who shipped it. The Kinko's he shipped at took the stuff out of his boxes and made him put it in new boxes before they would ship. They approved and possibly even packaged the kit into those boxes.

gosh and i thought that the worst would be over, let me know if i can help you at all, ive got pictures of the exact setup on my site under the suspension catagory. i think those crossmembers are your diff drop bracket and that skid plate bolts right under them, i could be mistaken though, im gunna go look under my truck and make sure

Matt,

You are close to right. I need one more diff drop bracket to lower the front diff down, then the cross members go under that to attach the lower A arms to. I have the superlift install book and parts list. It does a fair job of describing what goes where.

BTW- some of the graphics and pics on your site aren't comming up as they used to.

yeah, went outside and saw the crossmembers there too, sorry its only 10 am here just roled outta bed. I know i think my free cox website is starting to deteriorate, hahah

Ive assembled and counted what I have so far, here it is:

Looks like Im going to have to buy some shocks front and rear. Biggest thing holding me back is the other diff drop bracket. I can use my stock drive shaft and run without a skid plate if necessary.

now why does it seem the lowest front shock in the pic is bent?

As of now I have

1 passenger side steering knuckle
1 torsion bar drop down bracket and cover
1 front crossmember with drop down brakets (bent)
1 front shock (bent)

All this after a one month wait to get the damn thing? This sucks!

Now I’ve talked to fed ex for hours now. My parts that were lost were sent to their lost and found in Utah. I have to wait 14 days for them to catalog parts. In the mean time, I have to file a claim and wait for the corporate wheels to turn. This sucks. I am going to make or have made a diff drop bracket made based on the one that I have, and put on what parts of the lift that I do have. Ill have to hope that they find my drive shaft. Ive made most of the people mad that I have talked to because their answer is "file a claim and wait". I think its BS. Let me find the parts while they are still around!

Fed Ex dosent know what is going to hit them. Im going to memphis Wed afternoon to their main hub to see what I can get done. I cant see how they would loose so much stuff that they can send a truck every day to Utah, so I really think my parts are still there. Nobody at fed ex will give me a straight answer, so Im going to find my parts the old fashoned way. :D

dont stop there, did you pay for shipping or did the other guy? i would tell them you want a refund too, if you didnt already, esp. since your using your time and gas to figure out their mistake.

I am going to ask for a shipping refund regardless. I paid the shipper for the shipping charges. He will be "filing a claim" wednesday after the holiday. They are going to want to get me my parts just to make me leave them alone. I think this whole thing is a bunch of BS. Somewhere along the line someone working for fed ex half assed it. I will get my parts or take up so much of their time they buy me new ones. I don't think they know how persistent I am. I have far more time than money. :D

have you confirmed there is a box missing?
I mean one shock is bent, maybe the drop bracket was bent/broken too and never sent?

Just thinking out loud.......

There is no missing boxes, just missing parts that escaped when the boxes were destroyed.

I talked to the shipper today. He still has the skid plate, but says he sent everything else. He is going to send the skid plate asap. I still haven’t paid him all of his money so I can be certain to retain his cooperation.

I am going to discard that bent shock after removing all needed hardware. I am going to fab a bracket similar to the one that I have and install the lift. I am going to buy some new rear shocks if I can find them locally. I can run my stock driveshaft short term.

I will have to hope and pray they find my driveshaft. Im going to be on them like stink on $h!t until then. :D

Somewhat of an update:

The skid plate is on the way.

I finally talked to someone at FedEx who half way acted like they cared. I got the number for the ground lost and found place. I talked to someone who is going to look for my parts. She even wanted pictures so that she could look through the warehouse and know what she was looking for. I am hoping she will find my driveshaft. If so I will buy the parts that are missing new and complete the kit.

I am going to file a claim and get my shipping charges refunded regardless.

I am so disgusted with this whole thing. I am going to give up. I found parts available through summit, and am going to wait until I get money from FedEx to buy anything.

I am not certain if I am even going to install it now. I may sell it, or hang on to it for future use.

I was able to let my torsion bars out to get a softer ride and eliminate my vibration caused by too much of a CV angle. It has a little rake since I have the F150 leaf springs in the back.

hang in there dude....the result will be worth the wait

FedEx screwed me over big time. Driveshaft, other drop brackets missing. No insurance was taken out, the shipper supposedly filed a claim but I have seen no money. I'm screwed. I am thinking about selling the remainder of the kit, or possibly buying the missing pieces less the driveshaft, then selling the kit. Or I may save it for later when I don't have to use the Mountaineer for heavy hauling. I dunno, the whole thing pisses me off.
