4 x 4 conversion

I read a couple of posts discussing converting 4 x 2 to 4 x 4 . I have a 2003 sport trac 2wd and need 4wd because I have moved to snow country in mountains. This vehicle is like new & customized so I don't want to trade cars if I can help it.

I have a line on a 1995 Explorer control trac 4 x 4 (rollover) at a great price. Is this reasonably doable? I have a lot of mechanical ability, a shop, welder, etc. but I don't want to fabricate everything. Give me your opinions please.

Welcome to this forum! There are many threads on converting from 4 X 2 to 4 X 4 on this forum. It's possible to do if you have the time, tools, money, parts, etc.

If you have a shop and a good welder.. then everything is reasonably do-able

It's possible but IMHO not worth the effort and expense. Just trade it on a 4x4 Trac.
