Replaced my oem fuel pump 2-3 yrs ago(with an aftermarket pump). Replaced that one with another aftermarket, and now I think this one's going bad. Lose speed, pull over low idle, might die might not. I just turn it off for 5mins or so and its ready(for another two miles or however many it wants to go). While waiting for it I turn the key. Sometimes pump dont even come on.
While parked in idle for say 10mins I can hear the pump go from the loud whine to a loan moan, idle gets rough and it'll die.
CODES: insufficient EGR flow. and o2 sensor
Went to ford he said its bad aftermarket pump and go with motorcraft. Said nothin would cause those problems but the pump. He could be right since my o.e.m lasted about 10yrs compared to these last two that have been within the last 1-2yrs. I think my shadetree mechanic gets his parts from oreillys if possible. Filter was changed with the pump thats on now so that shouldnt be the issue. Plugs and wires changed recent enough(motorcraft). Oh yeah I just went passed 288,000 miles, but the engine and tranny are fine. WHAT DO YAW THINK?????????????????????????????????????????
