5 speed auto for 4.0 ohv?

Hello everyone! So I have a 1999 explorer sport, 2dr, 2wd, 4.0 OHV, 4 speed auto. Was wonder if there was a 5 speed auto I could swap into it. Don't want to do the manual swap. New here so help is appreciated!

You technically have the “5” speed available, the 5r55e.

afaik, the 5r55e 2nd gear is 1st/OD engaged simueltaneously, so i would assume only the programming is different, but others may have more info

The 99 sport has 5r55e which is technically a 5
Speed auto

It is a 4 speed transmission that uses computer controls to create a false 2nd gear. If you watch one of these transmissions on a scanner and live data you will see 5 shifts
