95 explorer 4.0 170,000 miles 4x4 auto. viper remote start system.

This happened to my mom, she drove to the grocery store and when she went to go home, the car didnt want to leave.

The engine doesnt even crank. when you turn the key you hear the relays click but thats about it. Tried jumping it and even swapped out batteries with the same result.

tried starting with the remote start and still same thing.

Tried jumping the starter relay still no crank.

could it be the neutral safety switch?

The neutral safety switch will keep the solenoid from engaging, so you won't hear a click. Check battery connections and ground connection first thing. If they are all good, the it's likely the starter.

what relay check your starter for power

Check the starter...mine just went through the same thing two weeks ago.
