97 Mountie won't start

My Mountie ran fine yesterday but this morning, even though it turns over fine, it isn't even trying to start. It shows a quarter tank of gas, so it shouldn't be out of fuel. Dunno if it matters, but the warning bell goes off when I'm trying to start it, and sounds different than when the door is open and it's dinging. Please help.

Does the "theft" light flash while you are cranking the engine?

Is the truck parked on a downhill incline ( pointing downhill)?
