98 merc 5.0 full time awd. i think i have a bad t-case do these trucks get chain strech? Going up hills its clunk clunk clunk. only time it really clunks is on loads. what do you guys think. thanks for your help

Try removing the front drive shaft --then, with it removed look at the cv joint area for a boot tear. You must remove it for proper inspection.
