53 is a nice style. not sure if the track width was wider for that year or not. I think some have been done with s10 chassis so why not... :)

well i have a 53 f 100 at home in ga , but its being bagged , has a 69 boss 302 auto tranny , unsure of what it is , was told c4 , been sitting on and off for almost 20 years , but will fire up and make the straight pipe glass packs roar lol , Amazing Project you have , Glad to see it being done and esp on here with so many pics !!!!

Got some steel 16" wheels and planning to put some 285/75's on them. Just curious what backspacing would be ideal. Might just have to test fit for clearance and get spacers if needed.

For 16" x 8" 5x4.5 [also 114.3mm], I was going to go with offset=0mm. That wat the inside of the tire would sit exactly where the inside of a stock tire sits, even with the wider rim.

You are welcome; I just want to see this rig finished and on the trails. *cough* come to CO *cough* Be careful with big spacers, I've seen way too many hub bolts sheared off on the trail.

Im just gonna get the tires mounted and go from there. I think they might fit without spacers but if it needs them at all it wont be much. maybe 1/2" at most. Im hoping on the not needing and they will sit in a ways, should give a little more turning clearance until I get a lift.

You are right he has done an awsome job and is a great inspiration! This may give you a little peak of what you can do with a lifted '53, f100. '50 on '93 EX Beware, the chasis widens out aft of the cab so the bed would need major modification to fit the rear wheels...

sweet, I think I saw a different picture of that truck somewhere else a while back. Nice truck. Good to know about the box and frame widths.

So I picked up some sheet metal to start fabricating up a box, but decided tonight to go mount my tires on my cheap steel wheels. Definitely not your traditional hot rod look...but I love it. :)

No spacers needed yet. I haven't started it up and turned the wheels though to check for rubbing while turned.

Mang, Awesome fab work!!!

Oh yeah in the meantime I ran out of zip cut discs and my keys were in my wifes car. So I killed some time by putting some pinstriping on the hood. Will be a couple more colors probably but as you can see it started raining.
