Hello everyone, well after rebuilding my trans(waiting to put back in) i decided to post some pics of the old gaskets... Can anyone tell me what these tears could/would do? I already know what they caused i just would like to get someone elses opinion.. .:p:

here are the pics:

These are on the gasket thats between the valve body and the actual trans.

Now the other things that i just thought of.

The reverse servo gasket between the reverse servo cover and the valve body seperator plate was Slightly torn. Also the hex bolts that bolt the seperator plate between the valve body and the trans were loose enough that i could unscrew it without a tool.

These gaskets were in the same condition when they were in the car too.

So what could this cause? Thanks!

I'd have to study the VB hydraulic circuit to figure out what it would do, if you already know why not just tell? cause a problem no doubt.

yeah it caused a lot of problems, i was just wondering what people thought

Well, like he said, it's the gasket that holds pressure in the Hydraulic Circuits.

You need a new gasket. Now way around it.

Not an uncommon issue, gasket gets old and brittle.

Updating your VB while it is out?

I took these during the rebuild. i replaced them and doubled the ones that go between the vb and cover plate.

it works for the most part for some reason reverse and park got mixed up. i have no clue how. And reverse works but it like wont go all the way in it jerks. Kinda at a loss on it.
