Im trying to hook up an aftermarket alpine cd player into my 96 ford explorer eddie baur with the jbl audio system. I want to bypass the sub and amp so crutchfield gave me an adapter and wiring harness. They say to unplug some wires from the amp and connect the adapter to it then connect the new wiring harness and run it all the way up to the receiver to plug into the alpine. I was wondering if its possible to just plug the adapter in up front and then use only a little bit of wiring harness to connect it to the alpine head unit and everything will work the same? This way i dont have to run it all the way through my car. Will this work?
