Hi,
I will need to increase the height of the air intake manifold by 10mm (0,40"). Does this cause any problems? Any negative consequences?
Reason for change: Installation of adapters for LPG.

im quite sure not, as long as there is hood clearence. many with alluminum/iron heads will put phenolic intake spacers to keep intake heat down, its usually a 1 inch piece of plastic. so it should not have any mal effect

Thank you very much for the reply and help.
The mechanic will use a 10mm spacer.

Looks like he paid a rat to chew that spacer out of a sheet of plastic. Why does it look so jagged?

I’d bet there are spacers you could just buy.

That spacer looks almost exactly like what is already in there under the fuel rail.
Could you modify a factory fuel rail gasket/ spacer

There is plenty of room to do what you are thinking however you might need to source some longer intake studs

I don’t like the idea of doubling those prone o-rings. Why does the intake need more height? Is there any other way to correct whatever issue there is?

There is a member that had a no start issue on gasoline, his explorer would run on the alternative fuel. I don't remember if it was lpg or cng? I wonder if he has pictures of the install.

i wanna say CNG it was in the ranger sub i think called running on fume

No, the running on fuel guy was doing some vaporized fuel tech he “invented”, and was gonna get back with his impressive results. Never did though…..
