Aldive, not sure if it was on your thread or someone elses but if you could get a 'B' code from a scanner, i could get the correct flowchart for the code. i don't show a 37 on any of my charts.

OT-BrooklynBay, i took a look at ford-trucks forum and signed up, answered a few questions from other members and on the email notifications i received an ad for their premium membership instead of the actual reply. i tried to post a question in regard to this under 'feedback' but it never showed up and they cancelled my account. do you know why they do this kind of stuff?? i guess someone can't complain to them without getting banned. oh well. :) if you do know, just PM me with the answer so we don't hijack this thread.

I'm looking to buy back my rolled Ex from the insurance company. Wanna buy an airbag assembly cheap? :)
Best of luck Aldive,

aldive:

i just found the 37 codes, there are 4 posibilities:

B1996 - Passenger side AirBag Shorted to Battery or Ignition
B1997 - Passenger side AirBag Shorted to Ground
B1998 - Passenger side AirBag Resistance High
B1999 - Passenger side AirBag Resistance Low

*** Deactive AirBags ***

for 1997 - measure resistance between passenger side airbag seat harness C314 (connector) WH/YE wire and ground. is it under 1000 Ohms?? if so, correct short. if not, measure resistance between passenger side airbag seat harness C314 (connector) BN/YE wire and ground. is it under 1000 Ohms?? if so, correct short.

1998 - measure resistance between passenger side airbag seat harness C314 (connector) WH/YE wire and C308 WH/YE wire. is it under 1 Ohm?? if not, correct open. measure resistance between passenger side airbag seat harness C314 (connector) BN/YE wire and C308 BN/YE wire. is it under 1 Ohm?? if not, correct open.

the others are a bit more complicated so a B code would be best if the 1997 or 1998 don't solve the prob.

oops, connector locations:

C308 under passenger seat.
C314 right side of passenger seat back.
