Hey guys I know you are all going to this all ford national the weekend before but somewhere around the poconos there is a hot rod show the next weekend. I am going to that b/c I have a few friends who are going to be there and my dad and I usually make it to Englishtown, NJ for the drag races but it is the same weekend as my college graduation so I wont make it to that. Just wondering if anyone is going to be there. I can get more details if anyone is interested. It would be nice to meet up with some of y'all
Gary

Where in the Poconos? I might be intersted, hot rods kick ass:D

I will definitely get more details soon. I have to talk to my father, he knows more about this than I do. I should talk to him tonight so I will let you know

Well if it makes ya feel better John, that rock is now moved, infact, they made turtle, and vally more accessable to stock vehicles

Too bad. I was gonna piss on that ******* for revenge. LOL

what did they do Chris, pave the trails?

Jeeps suck, Chris and I spent a good part of the day Friday, repairing the rear suspensions on 2 jeeps, on the same Neurock team

I spent part of Sat. fixing a neurock jeep, axleshaft, r&p on its way out, today, that r&p exploded on the first trail, along with with an axleshaft, and locker pin, took just about all day to find the parts and rebuild the entire front axle.... heres its last moment on the trail, and the course was much harder then it looks... 3 ppl timed out on it.

heres an awsome hill climb.... noone made it without a winch, one guy got to the top, the front end lifted off the rock face.... he rolled 5 times backwards down the hill before stopping, and these were all those masive rock buggies running it, hell, Charlie, for those of you who know who he is, he couldnt even make it up it.... that should tell ya something, this guy here, he stopped where he is now and winched the rest of the way up, he didnt even try to make it up......

Lizard, sorry I didn't make it up there. I ended up gooin out Friday night after talking to you. I will be up there though for the Ford Nationals.

sorry for the dumb questions, but will all you guys and gals be in one area? and will they direct me that way.

From what Spas has told me, when you pre-register and use "Serious Explorations" in as the group name, we all get put together. Thats just from what i understand.

I picked up my K40 antennae yesterday, just need to install it, then comm will be complete. Pretty much all equipped now, though I need to check on the tow hooks? (dont the X's come default with front and rear tow hooks??) I could look at lunch I guess. :P

I had to rip the computer/chip back out as it was jerking me around so much if I had a warm apple pie in my lap after taking off from the house, I would've needed a cigarette at the top of the hill, if you get my drift.

In any case, I guess once everything is working, I'll get registered for whatever...

Apologies for waffling on things, life is tres busy and it's coming at me from all sides.

ahhh, sounds like me. Explorers don't have tow hooks anywhere, really stupid if you ask me, but the same for rangers. you need a good torky drill to get through the frame, 9/16 bit, and get a set of those wal mart tow hooks, wrok pretty well, I havent had any problmes

OK, that was a bit more info then I needed to know....

anyway, yeah the exploders dont have tow hooks, just a loop under the rear bumper, which dont work for crap, and BTW, tow straps with hooks on it are not allowed at paragon.

Brilliant @#$&(+%& design Ford... just brilliant.
Any other useful tidbits that we newer to the trail folks should know before being bit in the @$$ due to weak design and potential presumptions?

Thanks for that heads up. I probably would've just sent it off a cliff if I went through all the money to upgrade/install things and got turned away because I had no tow hooks. heh

P.S. Apologies for that American Pie moment, it fit so well (the scenario that is :P). heh

it's tricky to get the hooks in there right, there are some good writeups on the board on how to do it, I think in the useful thread section. If you have the money, may want to go with a front and rear reciever, they seem to be the best bet, but the hooks work very well. need to remove the front bumper, use one of the existing holes in the frame, it's elongated, provides some play, sug up the hook, mark the location for the second hole, remove the hook, drill a pilot hole, and then drill the 9/16. have yoiur wheaties in the morning, wear long sleeve shirt, full pants, and safety glasses, it takes some effort. drop the bolts down through the frame, and use the nuts on the bottom. I've done that to 4 trucks now
