Okay, I just did this mod and it's pretty darn cool. My only problem is that I took the battery out to get better acces to the passenger side wires and when I went to put it back in it acts like it lost some juice. When I tried to start it up it turned slowly for a few moments before it finally started. While I had it out I tried to sand the terminal a little to clean them up. Did I do something wrong or do I just need to let it run and recharge the battery for a while? I'm not sure how old the battery is. Is it possible I got the terminals wet? Would that cause problems?

AUGH! I just went out to try starting my car (I'd been leaving it running for longer than the few minutes between these posts mind you) and now it won't start for me at all! It seems like the battery has plenty of juice cuz all my electrical stuff is working. What did I do?!?

Turn your electrical stuff off and try to start it. The battery might be gone or you could have a loose connection. Someone else on here cleaned their terminals and their X wouldn't start. Turns out the battery was bad.

Well s**t.

Okay, I'll go try that. Should I just let it run for awhile if I get it started?

A minute or 2.. When I bought my BBK TB all of a sudden I was getting a CEL. My DPFE sensor went bad. Recently it had taken a while for my X to start when cold. All that changed when I replaced the sensor ($50 from Autozone). This could be your problem. It's odd what causes things like this to happen but that may be it.

A veh. at idle isnt charging the battery. You gotta get the RPMs up a ways.
Auto Zone, Pep Boys ect. can check your battery.

Well, thanks to you guys and my stepdad I figured out that my battery's dead. Here's what I did: I swapped batteries between the Explorer and our Dodge Shadow that's been sitting around collecting dust and the Shadow battery started the Explorer right up and the Explorer battery did nada for the Shadow. So now the Explorer's running fine and the Shadow is back to doind what it was doing in the first place. The only problem is that the Shadow's battery is like half the siz of the Explorer one; my stepdad tells me this has something to do with amperage (sp?). I'm going to buy a new one next paycheck anyway but until then will the small one be fine? Can I still play my stereo? And lastly, should this be the time when I talk my wife into letting me get an Optima?!!

Yep, get an Optima at CostCo for something like $110.

What color?? I don't know the difference between the red, yellow and blue ones.
