Another OHV M90 build

Btw, James says "no problem" on sending him new logs after I make changes to the exhaust and pully. Is he crazy? Maybe he's curious enough that he wants to see the difference the changes will make? My explorers running so good with the current tune, I'm questioning making any more changes.

Hope the price and changes was discussed before or when the bill does come you might be the one thats going "crazy"!!

Hahaha.....yes, that crossed my mind also. I don't have any reason to think it will be anything but fair.

O im sure he is going to take care of you for sure, especially being a member here.we both know tuning aint cheap tho:(

Ya, I'll be done once exhaust and possible pulley are done.
Then I'll have to start saving to fix stuff I grenade. My U-Joints are already clanking, where they weren't before. No biggie, I've had a set in the garage for over a year now anyway, but its a sign of things to come.
No complaints, its all part of the fun!

Heh, a project is never done. For me there has been only one statement, because race truck.
Started my "project" 2yrs ago and my charger last year. Still not done.

Haven't forgot about the video, need to recalibrate the wideband. So should have something for you tomorrow. I have plans to visit homedepot in the morning now that truck is running. Let's hope I find all that I need.

Glad you found the issue Phix (Cam position sensor).
I'll keep that in mind. I didn't understand how that related to the upgraded flex plate though.

Actually it's CKP crank position sensor. The flex plate on yours should be updated. I know of a couple of stories about boost and the 3-piece stock one that came in my truck. When I did the trans I got the updated version. If you look into the history of the instacharger you'll find that was one of the reason they abandoned the kit (eldelbr.. I mean bbk.)

Ok, so the crank position sensors on the front of the motor. Im still missing what that has to do with the flex plate? Do you have a link somewhere to share? I am certain your right, but I don't understand.

Keep in mind, I've never had my motor out, or my transmission(Myself, anyway).

Hey you said you used your stock tps on the accufab tb? How? Stock ohv spins counterclockwise and the accufab spins clockwise?

This is what one looked like before, usually takes out the converter. They are know to be weak when adding power. You might have a 5r55e.

Been there, done that 3 times! Glad I finally fixed that problem. I used to hate it when i had to change it, after the first one went, the next one went less than 3 months later and automatically I knew what it was. The last one held together just long enough for me turn around and get back to my shop....

You know I said the same thing, unless you have jack stands to get the truck up and keep it there. DON'T DROP THE TRANS! its such a skilled 2 person job that I cursed and cursed and cursed not paying someone 200 to drop and install. My rebuild only cost me 450 (not including the central valve vb and converter).

JD, I don't even know what to say. The one I used is from a sohc motor, but exactly the same. the tps works, as it can be seen in the logs. Also, I measured it working with my meter.

I didn't check rotation. I'll have to go look at it. It just worked, so I didn't dig any further.

Thanks for the info on the flex plate guys. Not a nice thing to happen.

Oo gotca.pretty sure the sohc ones are like the 5.0 i tried to use my stock one from my ohv and it wouldnt work.any new updates?

None. Trucks running great. I havn't done anything.

My plan is to have my exhaust done on Friday. Then over the weeken, I'll install the smaller pulley and do some logging.

I see you have the tps figured out. It was just dumb luck for me on that one.

I wish I'd have seen this earlier:
http://gm-supercharger.com/m90-eaton-rotor-pac90.html
$50.00

The coated gm rotor pack fits the Ford M90 I have with the change of a locator pin. Apparently is good for a 1psi boost, and less heat. Too good to be true?

Rocket? Want to give it a go as you progress? I'd have tried it for that price.

Thats the gen 3 blade and coating.i would figure it give you more than 1psi and its absolutely true.the gm m90 is a better charger all around, atleast for gen 3&5.thats a hell of a deal, you cant have your coated for that price.
Ps i have my base tune now;)

****. I gotta give those rotors a whirl.
Piss.....
lets see....rotors, oil, some sealant, and I'm good to go. I bet I could even use the same oil. All I'd have to do is make sure the snout stays vertical.

Ugh. I'll see what shipping would be.

Ordered.
$77.87 shipped. Its UPS though, so I cringe at what other charges they will have for me when the item shows up at my door.
