I just checked, and my tps won't fit the ifab throttle body. I checked the graveyard, and the soh motor has the same throttle body sensor that I have.
So, I'm guessing an early model mustang tps is needed? Any wiring issues, or anything else I need to know?

your right it doesnt fit.when i was testing everything on my buddy tb i was using gaskets not an tps or air bypass.so the holes in the gasket are bigger and looked like it would fit.a tps from a 5.0 explorer or 5.0 mustang should work.they are three wire but need to check on the voltage they put out, pretty sure its the same, searching now on here for tps voltages

The bbk 1685 looks like it is what we want, and adjustable. But, is the output at the same voltage curve as what we have?

Hmm...any idea on oem part number? I'm not doing well with this one. Ebay searches are bringing up tons of different part numbers, and expensive.

I think this part number works.
F4SF-9B989-AA
RockAuto --- 2000 Ford Explorer v8. Hate to order without knowing.

Im so confused.
The accufab TB is for a 86-93 Ford Mustang 5.0
That means a TPS will fit from those years.
Checking RockAuto, these are the TPS's with the pigtail. That would mean that some wire splicing would have to be done. Thats a bad thing. Its not like we can just take the connector off our original TPS's.

I emailed accufab support. They might have a sugestion.
good news is, my IAC fits fine. It looks like I traded one issue for another (IAC issue for a TPS issue) with the new TB. Im going in the right direction I think.

Yea just about to tell you a 2000 Explorer has a different one.yea its not going to be plug and play unless you get the other side of the connector. You could probably take you stock one and drill or knock out the metal sleeves out where the screws go through and it would fit.just need to adjust it before you tighten the screws.Your iac was way worse

I was just thinking of taking my dremmel to one from the graveyard I picked up off a 4.0 SOHC. I think there is a bottom ring stopping our TPS's from seating against the TB. Then, push out the metal sleeves as you say.

This might be the best route.

Yea on the one i sold with my bbk this was done to it to adjust it,i set it to be richer.i have a spare one if you want to wait and ill try it first and put it on the meter to test it.unless you get one for free or super cheap

I just tried it with the spare I had($10.00).

things I learned.
1. A dremmel works fine for taking off the outer ring to make the TPS sit flush against the Throttle body
2. You can't press the brass rings out. The plastic on the tps starts to crumble.
3. I couldn't drill out the brass. The brass heated so fast, it started to melt the sensor housing. I don't have the right tools for this.
4. Working the mount holes with a drill bit to make them oblong seems to be the way to go.

5. And most importantly, this will work.

You check the voltage?

No, I need to pick up a couple of the right size bolts first.
Maybe tomorrow night I'll plug the mounted tps/throttle body in to my truck and set the voltage and tighten bolts. One less thing to do on install time.

HALLO!!!!!!!! i just saw this thread!! must see when done! so lets see, you'll have the only super charged ex in the peg, i have the only 5L sport in the peg! nice!

Excellent. I was thinking of driving out to see you and what you have done once I have a working supercharger also. I have a feeling that your fab skills are far greater than mine though. I followed your motor/transfer case/tranny swap. I was impressed with your skills.

Let me know about the bolt size, ill have to pick up a set also

4mm. 1 inch long. Pick up a couple of washers also.

I re-assembled my m90 today. I see why rocket polished the one piece. Being that its an assembly with the rotors, you cant just take it apart, sand blast it, and powdercoat in an oven.

So, being the copycat I am, I polished mine like Rocket did (Sorry Rocket).

So, the only things I am waiting on is a piece of intake tube, and my fuel pressure adapter. Labour wise, I need to run the vac hose, and do the wiring for the other two gauges (Fuel, and boost). Also, set my voltage on the TPS sensor. Hopefully I'll have these done this weekend.

Once thats done, I'll be ready to install. I cant believe I'm so close.

Good to hear that you are close to doing the install.
