Another OHV M90 build

No, there was nothing added tot he ecm.

Im wondering what that relay under the dash is. It sounds like its from behind my radio.

No codes.

The no fuel pump and no spark have to be related. What does the inertia switch control? Just fuel pump, correct?

Yea they have to be but not many things control both.
yea pretty sure its just fuel.the ecm is getting power?

Just to see whats up, I tried flashing ecm again. Unlock ECM Failed.
Tried reading codes. Unable to read DTC's

I don't have access to my ECM

How do I check for power at ecm?

Eww not good especially if you know its getting power.ecm is outa my knowledge zone.maybe post in the 911 section.

How do I check for power at ecm?

Check the wiring schematic in the back of your manual.it will tell which wire should be hot.switch out the fuse first, maybe that simple.

Tried pulling battery terminal for a minute, and then tried flashing ECM.
I think my ECM's toast.

Thats behind my radio, correct?

Mine is in the pass kick panel.i would pull that cover off and check for power.if you got power then yea its probably bad.but if not could be a relay in the dash or a number of things.

hey don. i have a 99 ohv truck for parts at my budys. it still has all the computer stuff in it. i might, MIGHT be able to grab what ever you want later on today, and zip into the city and drop it off for you. this might be a long shot, but check your cig. lighter fuse. that ranger i have here blew that fuse and i couldnt read any codes. or is it you can read codes, but the computer wont connect.

Duh......Fuse 19 at drivers door.
I was really struggling to get in there as im parked in the garage really tight.
I don't understand how that could be, but Im not arguing.

Now to put things back together and look at that cyl 2 misfire issue. I might make the track yet.

Thanks for the offer Tim, that was greatly appreciated.

So that fuse will stop you from being able to read codes?huh learn something new every day.

not sure what the fuse number is, but i know i had a CEL come on that ranger, and when i went to read the codes, the reader was blank. started stressing out about it, then one of my buddy's (who also happened to be shop foreman at stadium years ago) told me to check that fuse, and sure enough, blown. the OBD2 port shares the same circuit as the cig lighter, but it doesn't tell you that in the owners manual. but as i was saying, are you able to read the codes? if so, i dont think thats your problem.

I'm at the track, and it starts raining.
Perfect, just perfect.

The days been called due to weather.
No timeslip for me. ****ty, to say the least.
Time to go visiting since were in the area of friends cabins anyway.
Ill drown my sorrows.

however, it doesnt help when he has a red neck helping him. the truck was in a field. so, when you pick the motor out of the truck, what happens? you cant move the picker.

in steps red neck thinking!

you pull the truck away from the picker! :D

Thanks for the motor Tim!
I pulled the heads tonight. I'll post pics tomorrow.

I'm no expert, but I don't think the oil had been changed my at all till the final days of the trucks life. The oil looked not real bad coming out, but once the valve covers and lower intake came off it wasn't pretty.

No big deal for me though. It just pushes me further along to wanting to oversize on the pistons. I can see cross hatching, and everything should be okay, but I'm worried about the bore wearing slightly out of round.

It wouldn't be a question in my head at all about boring the block..believe me you don't wanna cut any corners .im a strong believer in doing it once even if you gota wait to do it right.case in point, delta rockers.i cut corners with mine,(not bottom end) and have done the top end three times:(some cases you can but not in a FI motor.
my advice save you pennys and do it right the first time;)

as long as there are no scratches going up and down in the bores, and there is no big ridge at the top the bores are ok, but yea, i would still get it punched out 0.30 over. if the lifter valley, and the insides of the heads look bad, i almost dont want to know what the bottom end looks like.

Here's a pic of a bore that had an issue. The head on this cylinder is really dark, and the piston is very clean. I'm guessing sucking coolant in this cylinder.

The cylinders and heads do look amazingly good though. On quick look, I couldn't see any cracks between valves on the heads (I wont be using them anyway, but interesting to look).

Pretty gummy up top, Id hate to see what the lifters are like inside.

I'll try to get the front of the motor and oil pan off tonight.
