It is a magnet that puts a positive charge to the molicules in gas which makes gas burn more powerfully.
It also puts a negative charge on your bank account that will not be offset by any gas savings.

If it worked, the car manufacturers would be using it...

I once installed one of those platinum gas savers in a work vehicle. Vacuum pulls air through a solution and the platinum drawn into the vacuum line promotes burning... load of garbage. Can't believe we bought into it. That was a few years ago however... Older=wiser. (usually)
