http://www.tandmoffroadproducts.com/ this is the main site with a few pics.

Any one use one of these or have any more knowledge about it. I want more gearing in my truck and have a few options but not sure what way to go. The site says $700 for it.

Basically I have 4 options with my truck

1. buy the doubler and do other mods needed to make it work. Probably cost over a grand not counting new driveshafts

2. Buy an atlas T case. cost over 2k + drive shafts buut thats all i need to make it work. Dont like the idea of a t case worth more then my whole truck. But with a new input it could be made to fit a differnt rig if i ever build something different

3. Swap the C5 auto in. I have one sitting in the garage now probably cost a few hundred bucks in misc parts to get stuff i need + driveshafts. but am not a big fan of autos.

4. Screw it. Keep burning my clutch cause rick tdavis a rangerX love the smell of it on the trail :D

So anyone run one of these doublers.

Matt

Matt, do you think the stock t-case can handle being last in line? I wonder why they didn't design it so their case is last.

Hhhmmmm...for only $700 I'd probably try it.

I think the t case can hadle the power assuming you dont drive to crazy. Ive never broke a stock tcase and seems like most failures i have heard of have been from lack of fluid in the t case. How ever i have only heard of two of them being used. One is in a 2700lb buggy and think the other is in a bronco II. I dont want to be the one to test it cause i dont want to have to redo my radius arm mounts or move my gas tank unless i know it will work. plus i dont want to be out a grand if it is a POS and doesnt work.

All it is is a stock ranger t case cut up with a new tail shaft and back half of housing is custom. that is why it goes inbetween. wish there was more info out on this unit to make a better decision.

Matt

Now you understand one of the reasons I went zuk - you can get tcase gears!

It's too bad no-one has made an adapter from the bw-1354 pattern to other tcases. You'd have to change out the output shaft to do that, so I can understand why that hasn't happened.

Matt-

I’m the Guinea pig… I have one of Tom's doublers, it's simple, relatively in-expensive and it works. I'm running a Bone stock 4.0/5spd/doubler to a very well used 1354, coiled RC 60 front/D70 rear, 5.13’s, Detroit’s and 42's. So far I've been on 5 HARD runs. 3 to Rubicon with about a dozen runs in the “Box” and 2 Runs to a friends ranch where we have made a trail in one of his canyon's that makes the Rubicon look like a mall parking lot. I tore apart a poly bushing sleeve last weekend on my custom radius arms, bent the living crap out of my rear anti-wrap bar and I almost tore off my rear spring hangers. I've rolled a few times, driven on my side ALOT, had tires 5' up trees with my foot on the floor (hence the broken front radius arm) I've been beating the crap out of the truck... if two BW cases can take this till spring... they'll last a lifetime in a "normal wheeler" The 120:1 is nice… but the addition of an Atlas would put my crawl ratio into the 200:1 range… That will be bad ass :D

I seriously recommend a very good rear anti-wrap bar or a link rear suspension! I’m struggling to keep my rear leaf suspension alive till after Carnage for the Cause… then I’m definitely going to have to do a rear 4 link.

A thread on pirate to show my truck.

Doug. I believe Matt's truck (Rockranger) was lost in the SoCAl fires along with his families house....

I dont think he's going to be installing a doubler in that truck....

Although they have been around for a while and I have heard good things about them. Would be a good alternative to an Altlas II ($$$$$$)....in a BII I bet the rear d shaft looks SHORT.......plus the tranny X member is already questionable, but all that can be taken care of with a chop saw and a welder........

Resurrecting this thread, cuz I like and want this doubler. :D Also, maybe some people missed seeing it before.

That would be really cool between the 700R4 and the Atlas.

I'm still pounding on the dual bw cases

I've lost track how many runs I've been on now.

but they include, rubicon, hammers, private extreme trail and many snow runs and last but not least draggin huge trees around my property :D

I'm going to be making my own version for a few people soon... is there much interest for one here?

I know of 2-3 people who would be interested, including myself.

Well..

If had 700 bucks to throw out;) But I think bigger tires, lockers, maybe SAS...(stupid sas in my head now) bumpers in a little more important now;)

I've been watchin this thread for a while and i'd definantly be interested in one.

mememe!:D

<evil> Muah ha ha ha </evil>

I new that was coming:rolleyes:

Man you need to get a second job or something

Or a new one that pays more! Besides I still would'nt have any money...Too many bills to pay off and a house save for. But would sure help if my wife worked more then 3 hrs a day!:p

Put me in for a doubler. I would really like to have one.

Ok I'll post up after I do these for some friends and see how it looks for making them for others. :D

Should be in the next couple months.

When you say "my own version", do you mean the same doubler, or new and improved? ;)
