any gen 2 trucks with a 4" superlift frontend and a SOA rear?

Is there enough TT or coilover adjustment in the 4" superlift front to level out a SOA?

Ive read about it but cant seem to find any pictures of trucks with this combo......

any pics? Anyone with this setup?

I'm pretty sure you have to do a 1.5 inch tt with the front kit to level with the soa. Should be a solid combo could probably fit 35's with a little trimming possibly but I think 33's or some metric 34's would look good. The 4" kit is just a drop bracket kit so you can still twist your torsion bars as if it were stock.

If you go over 33's I would consider regearing to though especially with the v6 drive trains. The v6 and 4.56 gears seem to be a solid combo with even 33's I have 32's on 3.73 with v6 and it's pretty much at the threshold of going with a different gear I'd say 33's would be the max at 3.73 and your still not doing your transmission any favors at that ratio. Id invest in an aux cooler regardless when going with the bigger tires it's a cheap upgrade and well worth it unless you have the factory aux cooler option then that should suffice.

thanks for the reply. Right now the plan is ditching the torsion bars and going fox coilovers. Going to stay with 33s. I like more wheel gap then less. Truck is a V8 and more then likely staying 3.73 for a bit.... but future gear swap in the works. Just trying to figure out if i want to invest in getting rear springs made or if i should just do a SOA. I was hoping not to have to crank the torsions or coilovers to much but also rear that a SOA gives about 5.5" of rear lift. Havnt got time to get under the truck and take some measurements.

The coilovers are going to complicate things as far as finding the right ones there is an thread on here for the actual swap but i don't think did it with the super lift as well. You could probably have some springs made or you could go with the 4" super lift leaf springs. Or you could build them search for f150 spring conversion. The soa will be cheaper and give you some added clearance on the shock plates. The amount of money and time custom fab etc...you would invest in all that I'd almost just go sas. Unless your in to more racing/ pre running type stuff. Otherwise I'd just stick to the torsion bars. As though the coilovers do seem really nice but for the money I'd just ditch the ifs all together.

And you should be fine with the V8 and tire /gear combo your running unless your wanting a real crawler. Unless you really feel the need to spend the $1000 plus for the gear change in the future.

Well there you go! lol someone on here has usually been there done that at some point.

If you want less lift in the rear, just modify the shackles.

thanks for all the feedback. Corkey- whats your rear setup?

I was thinking of modified shackles. I know the way the shackles work on an X though are different then a Ranger. You can use flip/lowering shackles on a ranger... but not so on an X. But there may be a way to gain a little. Need to investigate more.

Superlift 4 inch springs, warrior type shackles, flipped sway bar links made into disconnects, trail master shocks 8.8 rockcrusher diff cover ,35x12.5 BFG tires,,

thanks!

corkey- Do you know how much lift you have in the front over the 4"? Also, hows the ride with the 800lb coils?

I know the superlift is called out as a 3"-4" lift. Does one need to do a TT to make the superlift a 4" or can you do a 1" - 1.5" TT ontop of the Superlift 4" for a total of 5.5"

The Superlift drop brackets are actually 3", you get the other 1" with the TT.

SOA is going to be about 1.5" too much in the rear.

However, after the superlift, TT and SOA you might consider a "sloped body lift" to level things out. Just throwing it into the mess of thought.

total lift is about 5 1/2 , so 1 1/2 over the 4,, n the coils are smooth, but not soft, riding on a cloud with the big tires,,

see above,,, i do have limit straps too, to avoid the cv's coming apart during suspension droop,, i broke a strap bolt once, didn't fix it went wheeling, and the result was not good,,
