Are there 2 AWD transfer cases...wich do i have

I was on car-part.com and need some help. I have a 97 5.0 AWD and need a new transfercase (I think). It lists two different AWD cases, one with a 4 bolt circular flange, another with a 6 bolt cup flange.

Any thoughts on wich I might have, or how to tell?

You have the four bolt flange one. The other is a 98+ one. Another difference is the 98+ ones do not have speed sensor ports on them anymore.

What does the flange bolt to (the front driveshaft or rear?). I'm looking on ebay and can't quite tell wich one I need.

Well on yours, both the front and rear have flanges. On the newer ones, the rear is a flange and the front is the cup.

Maybe it was a midyear change in 97, because my 97 AWD has the 6 bolt cup style transfer case. You might have to get under the truck and look what you have.

Hello section, do you know how many electrical connections are on a BW4405?
I have a 99 Limited with the 4405, behind a 5R55E. I am trying to find an AWD BW4410, and the differences between these. The 4x4 connections don't concern me, but is there any VSS connector, or something else that I will need connected. Thans for any help,

Here is a pic of the 4405 in my garage. Also, most transfer cases that I know of don't have VSS ports after 1998.

Good, so if I can find a BW4410, most of my concern will be attaching it to the 5R55E, and the front driveshaft. I will call Phoenix Rebuilders next. Thanks,
