Ok, that was a slightly dramatic title. We had a massive snow storm in NY about a week ago. It was pretty awesome. They didn't give us the day off from school, so I was runnin' HAM all day. I didn't get any free time until my truck was buried in the snow.

I spent 2-3 days digging the 1994 Explorer out, since it was entombed in snow. Once I had it mostly-freed, snow fell off the roof and damaged the hood. it also damaged the wipers, which now only travel very slowly, and don't go down to the home position. Also, the alarm seems to be a lot more touchy than it was. If I lock the truck and walk away, the alarm goes-off. I joked that the truck is emotionally insecure because it won't let me walk away from it. I guess I can't blame it after what it went through. I can deactivate the alarm by locking the truck with a key.

Thankfully, no glass was broken, and it is drivable, but it's still kinda messed-up.

Can the school's insurance pay for the damage? Are they liable? I hope so, coz I don't have the money. The damaged hood is mostly cosmetic, but the wipers are almost useless, and the alarm, which previously worked properly, is way too touchy.

Originally, someone who works here was talking about buying my 2004 Eddie Bauer Explorer, but now, he's saying I should sell the 1994 Explorer (not to him, obviously). This conversation is just a day after I sent an e-mail asking if their insurance can cover it. That sudden change of tune makes me think they might be liable.

I dunno, but I would think the school would not be liable since it is an "Act of Nature"...
