I had to jack up my ex really quickly, jacked it up in the wrong spot. This is the front suspension, does anybody think I screwed it up too bad?

(You can see the jack mark better on the 2nd pic, between the two large holes on the left.)

I noticed some shimmy afterwards, but I tightened up my lugnuts a little more and that has seemed to go away.

i doubt that you messed anything up....those crossmembers get slammed and smashed all the time offroad. As long as its not bent forward or backwards its fine, a little upward dent in it like that shouldnt affect anything. I wouldnt worry about it if I were you. But in the future....be careful where you jack from, lol ;)

Cool, I haven't noticed anything recently, I've been driving it for a few days, and it seems fine.

nah no problem

Merely a flesh wound! :D

Don't believe these guys, you're truck will blowup in a matter of days.

Hate to tell you that.

=(

just so you know...hes kidding ;)

Mine look like that too.....i jack my truck up all the time using the front crossmember. No worries.

i wish my front cross member looked that pretty. :p

no harm no foul

LOL, mine is trashed. You could put a dress on yours and take it to the dance it's so purdy.

This is an extremly bad situation. It needs to be stress relieved immediatly! Get a torch and heat to a glowing red. Let it cool down. This will rearange the now stressed out molecular structure back to an oringinal state.
Just kidding. Steel is malleable and all that most likley happened is that part of the metal just streched a little not effecting any thing at all. Metal by the way is not a true solid

malleable

mal·le·a·ble [ mállee əb'l ]

adjective

Definitions:

1. able to be shaped and bent: describes a metal or other substance that can be shaped or bent without breaking

Not all metal is mallable. :) The crossmember steel certainly is though. I use a piece of wood when I have to jack on the crossmember.

lol, thanks, I don't offroad much, I have it mainly for the snow.

The manual does actually say to NOT jack from the crossmember.

Anyway, want a pic of mine so you'll feel better?
