BD's 2000 Explorer Limited

Well I didnt know if the thinner stuff would be easier to put on or whatever. I figure I might as well do it while I have the carpet and seats out lol

Plus I hear great results about it and eventually want todo my doors and whole rear.

Im upgrading my whole system soon ;)

So you're going with a when in Rome preventative maintenance kind of thing, that's always good.

I know mat will definitely guide the bass out the windows more (rather than just pushing on the sheet metal) Hard to explain but I'm sure you know what I mean.

Man, I'd love to check out your truck in real life. :p
You're invited to my s/c v8 swap party.

Only about an hour away. Lol.

No sir its only about 40, me and the GF are always up there around Twelve Oaks and Mongolian BBQ :D

If this is a real party..it sounds hella fun! Swapping a V8 in the 99 I assume?

But yea I know exactly what you mean about the sound going through the sheetmetal.

Well what heck, 12 oaks is right around the corner!! you go one more mile on 96 and you're at my work, and another mile after that you're at my house. lol.

And no, It's a charged 302 for the Mounty so it will be simple and easy, and I will probably have a few friends over to help with the swap, plus you if you come over, total there will be about 5 of us.
I'm selling the X to my best friend, so I can keep looking after it. :P

WOW thats gonna be a fun Mounty :D

I probably wouldnt be of much help though, I have NO special mechanic skills, just your basic DIY guy. Im always up to learn something new though:thumbsup:

Ordered 50 sq. ft. of "FatMat" -60$ shipped. Seller also had AMAZING feedback for such fast shipping. Hopefully its here Friday when I dont work :D

At a 3rd of the price of dynamat, im down

Im also happy as hell, I got a text from Car Stereo One, first 200 customers are getting one of the following: $25, $50, or $250 gift card. Me, the GF, her little bro, and sister are going down there saturday morning. (First 200 saturday)

Just a month or so ago, they were giving $25 cards to every customer before 11:30; I JUST made it. Then behind me, a guy had about 6 little kids with him and they each got one; or at least 4 or 5 of them did.

Its about 20 minutes through Ohio...35 minutes or so from me lol

Im hoping to score a couple of the 250$ ones so I can get a nice 2 way alarm/remote start :D

Otherwise ill probably be getting another pair of the Orion door speakers I got last time, and a nice set (4) of tweeters. Maybe some extra Dynamat if its a good price.

Oh hey Brad, ill come do your whole engine swap if you lower my X for me :)

But wait... you're not mechanically inclined enough to do my engine swap.

And I'm definitely willing to help you with your swap, I'll come to you. I did the Mountaineer for about $150 and know everything we'll need.

I started with a AutoZone universal kit, but the ubolts they give you don't fit our axles, so you have to get some different ones that they have in the store, oh, and I had to cut new holes in my shock mount plates for the ubolts to go through, and I think that was it... and obviously for upfront you just take the torsion bolts out, but silly me forgot to cut the rubber stoppers, so my truck is kind of a bumpy ride for me. lol.

I think that's just about it except for tools... I could lower it for you if you wanted.. just give me $225 up front. :P We'll trade trucks for a day/ night.

I was kidding about swapping the engine, I totally would if I could though :D

As for lowering, are you happier with the way it drives/rides/handles?

Yes, I take the freeway Ramps out here at about 45-50 mph now XD

It just HUGS the road. lol.

You could always test drive my truck before you decide to lower or not.

That'd be awesome...is it the Mounty or X you lowered? Does it ride smoother now?

Mounty is lowered, the X is lifted and gonna be sold soon.

It definitely rides a little rougher, but you have a choice, rough and handle well or handle well and rough?

It's hard to hit in right in the middle and get both. :-\

Mine rides rough as (censored) already!

But then again, I need shocks, and new leafs

The mounty has KYBGR2s up front and Monroe air shocks in the back, and I like them.

And you could just get your leafs re-arched, or add-a-leaf, but then again, we might lower it too so.. :p
