Hey guys! I need some honest opinions on this. I want to get a brush guard for the 03. But I can't decide on Black or Chrome. Also, which do you think would look better...a full grille guard or a safari bar? Help me decide what to get!!

(Check my sig link for photos of the truck)

i am partial to the black full grille gaurd. to each their own, black is also cheaper buy 100- 150 bucks depending on what it is... nice X btw

they will both rust in time (anywhere there is a weld it will rust) so the black may be easier to remove the surface rust and re-paint....just something to think about.

Thanks...I am leaning towards black also. After all, the nerf bars are black and there is no other chrome on the truck. I also like he looks of the full guard. Now...what brand to get? I hate choices!!

i wouldnt buy a cheapo one b/c they look crappy and probably wont protect against anything either lol. westin is the one i will probably get.i dont know of any major differences between different ones besides looks, some may be built better.

I saw 3 brands so far that I like...Westin, Smittybuilt and Bullett. The latter seems kinda cheap compared to the others, but I do like the looks of it!

Only 4 votes so far? Gotta be more opinions here than that?? But it looks like black has the most votes!

Normally I would be a hardcore advocate of the chrome (or rather Stainless Steel, chrome is asking for problems) but you don't have an inch of chrome on that truck. Gotta go black.

And definately full guard.... make sure it has the small bars to protect the headlights. Not just 1 big tube around the whole thing.

Just like Henery Ford said. You can get any color as long as it is black. Could allways add some lights to the guard that has some chrome on them.

gotta go with black, chrome would look out of place + it would match your trim.

Black good.
Chrome bad.

Black, it'll go with your nerf bars ;)

I have a cheapo JC Whitney brushguard i got for $80 from a friend who had it on his truck. It saved his truck when he rear ended a cherokee, and it kept me from damage when i nailed and pushed a mustang 10 feet. Look at the overall construction before you choose just on price.

But yes, a road armor is gonna protect better.

ya i guess its all in how it is built, depends on how hard its hit and at what angle and things like that too, the most expensive could crumple up too if its hit right

Always been partial to black accessories.
