I've had my EX LTD for two weeks and no problems till today. I have version 2.8 installed and it has worked beautifully. However, today the touchscreen stopped working and doesn't come on no matter what I try. I guess that it could be a fuse and I'll check it tomorrow. However, this doesn't give me a warm fuzzy.

Anyone else had this problem?

Twice on mine

Mine has done it twice. The radio and a/c should work while it off.

I think the systems gets confused and is in the middle of a "warm boot". This is when the computer is reset - like ctrl+alt+delete. I haven't need to do a cold boot. This is when you kill the power.

Keep an eye on it. Mine usually does a Sync maintenance scan right after the system come on.

Hope this helps.

I should have referred to the problem as a "black screen". Nothing works except for the climate controls which has manual membrane switches. There is no "booting". Just a black screen.

Thank goodness the AC works.

I was starting to think these issues were resolved with the 2.7/2.8 updates. While I know the sample of Explorer owners on this site might be skewed to those with problems in need of help, are others with 2.7/2.8 still having long delays, repeated resets and/or blank screens?

You can get the odd unit or lemon in any car (my neighbor has a 2 year old Lexus RX with an infotainment system that has never really worked. After multiple repair attempts (with lots of false info from dealer including statement that bluetooth not designed to work with iPhone), 3 new head units, countless trips to the dealer, she is finally getting Lexus to buy the car back under the state's lemon laws). I am hoping the bad reports are more of the rare lemon variety as opposed to what appeared early on to be a more systemic issue with early builds of MyFord Touch.

Maybe I shouldn't look for too much improvement from minor new code releases (right of decimal point). Hopefully, everything will be fixed after the next major (left of decimal point) release: i.e. 3.x.
