BMXking's Axle Swap 1st gen. Coils/Radius Arms!!!

Well, I finally decided to start a thread on it. For those of you who don't know, I will be doing a full-width swap. High-Pinion Dana 44 front and Ford 9" rear. I am still looking for the HP D44, but I picked up the 9" Monday. Thanks! Yeah that was me. The shop I work at is like 2 minutes from there.

Yesterday I got some time to work on it again. Welded light tabs onto my new bumper to remount the Hellas and rewired them. Then I installed some Focal component speakers in my kick panels which sound awesome compared to the crappy sonys I had in there before. In order to make them fit I relocated the PCM up to behind the glove box (been wanting to do this anyways, cause I take the doors off in the summer and if I got water in there it'd get damaged...so now it's about 12 inches higher). I cut off the back of the glove box and trimmed it down about an inch and reinstalled it so it is still completely functional. Lastly I put my CB back in there and just need to throw in my new PA now. Pics to come soon. :)

Very sad to hear. I will make sure to raise my glass high tonight in memory of Bryan.

RIP my friend

Brian and I joined the forum around the same time, the same age, and started our Explorer builds around the same time. We swapped a great deal of notes and comments.

Sad news men.

Thought of you today Bryan while driving the Navajo around in the rain , I know your looking down at us buddy .

Just logged in and saw this. RIP Bryan, like Burns i am a similar age and we all built our Explorers around the same time. I really enjoyed watching his builds and talking to him. :(

That's too bad, I enjoyed our interactions over the years, I remember the laugh he had when I stole his idea of photographing his axle on a radio flyer wagon during my big build thread.
I hope the people close to him are doing alright in dealing with their grief.

Bumping this ancient thread to say that I miss you buddy! Bryan (BMXking) was my older brother and left a HUGE amount of knowledge and insight when it came to anything truck-related. I'm thankful for Serious Ex because it was such a major part of his life and it's great knowing I can come back here anytime, read up on what Bryan would do, and get motivation for my own project(s). Reading through this thread again has left me with a burning desire to SAS my next Explorer and make you proud!
