Boomin's getting a sex change

SHEOT!!!! Brake lines wont reach :( What did YOU do to extend them. Im going to move the mount to give me a little more play but I dont think its going to help.

Rear brake lines? You can take that backet off and reweld it farther down the frame and lower. I made a metal L shaped piece that bolts to the bumpstop to weld the brake line bracket to.

On another note, my fan's hitting the shroud on deceleration, and makes a terrible noise. I was wary about cutting it or taking it out but after reading this, I'm definitely going to.

You can get away without running a shroud in the winter.

But I’ve learned the hard way to what not running a shroud can do. I wouldn’t recommend it, especially with the summer getting closer and closer to full blast.

But you should be able to get away with it, if you don’t drive during the day. If your fan is hitting the shroud then its obvious something isnt tightened down. fix it!

I don't want to take anymore of BoomBoom's thread.. but I haven't ran a shroud for 2 1/2 years. This is California too. It gets 100+ degrees in the summer. But 5.0's have huge ass radiators. :D

front brake lines due to like 3-4''s of TT. I got it workign though but undoing the bracket for the hard line. I'll be able to put it back to where it was when i lower the TT for the body lift. BUT SHE IS ON THE ROAD!!!!! Give me an hour or so to post pics.

boomin i did the same when i put my spindals on as far as the brake lines i mean.. they would not reach i had to unbolt them and drill and tap a new bolt much lower... and still on the drivers side they are just hanging loose...

cant wait to see the pictures...
3 to 4 inches of tt wow they ust be at a sharp angle??/

put it this way, I have soa in rear and my front is about an 1'' or 2'' higher. Did the spindles you got have a place for your abs sensors?

yes they did but the one on the drivers side did not want to go in all the way and allow the bolt to thread in..
after about an hour later and a few dremel wheels later still could not take enough off in order rto get the bolt to go in.. so i drilled it out totally and put a nut and bolt.. should work fine i am hoping,,so far so good....

now i have heard of others that had to grind the bottom of the spindle a little bit in order to allow a full turn.. i guess especially when tt is maxed out...
i kinda wish i did because where mine is now my left turn radius is noticibly less then when i turn right...

it looks like you have driven it from the pics? looks like you are in front of a
store.. how does it drive so far.. do you feel a huge dfference with the larger tires.. lucking i have a 3.73 limited slip. but still want a better gear...
i am guessing with 35's you will fid a good amount of ifference with power??

now see i was afraid to do the SOA for fear of the rear being higher than the front. i guess i should have waited to see yours...

any way i like the way it looks and that is without the body lift right???
do you rub now if you have no body lift installed??

sorry to be so long...
thanks
David M

to answer your qustions:

-yeah I had to grind the drivers side spindle a little to get my TT to work with it

-Mine doesn't even have the holes for the abs sensors

-IT IS NOW SLOW!!!!!! 3:73 LS in the rear. I am getting 4:56's

-That is without the body lift. That will be going on this weekend so i can bring the TT down a little.

-Pic is done in front on my work, Radio Shack.

- rubbing is VERY minimal and i will take care of that with just a grinder.

Wow, that looks similar to mine from the side. Looks good, Chris! Search this forum and TRS for a 8.8 LSD and then get gears (I would recommend Yukon, not richmond) and get it all taken care of. Can't wait to see it in person.

-Drew

did you have to grind a whole lot and where did you grind towards the rear of the spindle???

if you do not put the sensor back in won;t that really screw with the system or is there a way to disable it..
why woult they have the holes that is strange....
are they the explorer pro comp or fabtech..

they are the no names off of ebay. i havent had front abs sensors for probibly 3 months now. no problems just locks up on hard braking.

-I ground down the whole pad at the bottom abotu an 1/8'' for extra clearance. No problems now.

What I still have to do:

Get longer shocks
Body lift
Fix the brake lines
Gears
and probibly a bunch of other crap I can't think of

wow, finally you got to the dark side!

Nice! I kinda like it without the bumper.

I do too. I am going to go with a prerunner bumper

Yeah, I read that earlier in the thread. Have you seen taknitezx2's bumper? It's low profile, and looks good. It would probably be a nice alternative to no bumper while looking similar.

Does make it look bigger for sure...

Thats my plan. SavageWolf is going to help me make a bumper hopefully. I am starting to think about skipping the body lift and getting perrys fenders and saying the hell with it.
