Take it to the dealer to rollback the odometer.

swap the OD from the old cluster to the new one? I dunno I have not pulled apart a Gen II cluster yet, but on the Gen I you can swap the OD over from one, also if you take it apart you can see how to roll it back by hand

yea, If I cannot figure out a way to roll back the odometer, Im going to do what Celly did with his, take the White Face Gauges/Needles off and lay them on top of my stock cluster...

This wont affect the illumination at night, would it?

Hey, you set up a new ID didn't you? Unless there is another dude from SD with the same Explorer wanting to do a cluster swap. Blackout690. Just remember, it's not good form to have more than one ID on a forum and especially using them both in the same thread. In that other thread, I thought you were a different guy!

The overlays are virtually identical between black faced and white faced. Outside of the obvious (colour of the faces), all that is different is the fonts of the numbers and the colours of the gels. They're both high quality parts and line up perfectly. I actually much preferred the illumination of the white faced gauge faces over the black ones. The red needles look MUCH better than the white ones too. A lot of people do the "Sharpie mod" to their white needles. Just take a red Sharpie marker and colour the white needles to red. The white and red needles are indentical in size and shape except for the colour, FYI.

Thanks man. I have two computers in my house, so there may be different log-ins on each one. I used to have a 95 XLT, and I think I created a different account when I get my latest explorer (98 5.0) Anyways, Ill get rid of the old account, sorry for the confusion! I didnt even realize I was on a different name!

Anyways, you may have mentioned this already, but what color gel does the white-faced gauges have? same green as the black ones? also, would a hyper-white white bulb be the best bulb to put in the insturment cluster after I have the white gauges? (for the coolest look) thanks man

I've seen that happen before (multiple logins). No harm, no foul.

The gels are green. Sort of a lighter coloured green. I don't remember what my black faced ones looked like now so I can't really compare. I do know that the first time I used white faced overlays on my Sport, I was pleased with the look over the OEM black faced. Hyper white bulbs might be OK. Haven't really thought of it. I'm not a big fan of changing bulbs because I've heard that you'll want to change all your bulbs in your dashboard to make it look balanced. Some of the bulbs you come across outside of the cluster are a ***** to change too.
