broken part

Hey Guys, new to forum so excuse my "rookieness" I was checking out why my Explorer was not blowing heat out at drivers feet very well, it was coming out at some vents around my calf and when I pulled out the trim panel that comes from the center console towards the gas pedal, a plastic part fell out that doesn't seem to go anywhere,any information would be appreciated
I'd like to send picture but don't know how

Thanks, I thought this too but I don't see this part in these pictures, it's black and sort of shaped like and L with a pin that maybe a cable slips over,wish I could post picture, it would make this easier
