I've been lurking the fourms looking for the "right" explorer some time time now. Well I found it last night. 97 Eddie Bauer V-8 with a whopping 167,x.. miles. Don't let the miles fool you this thing is CLEAN. I plan on getting the tri bar oem wheels and a tt with shackles and some NICE MT's. The only thing it needs is a front d-shaft, its popping like heck!

I'm great now that i have a new project! The store has been kinda slow lately, fuel has got everyone in a bind.

Progress so far today! Pulled the bug sheild ant tinted the front wondows 12%.

I meant to tell ya--Bryan already returned his drive shaft to O'reilly's for a refund-

Welcome to the club, and, looking forward to meeting you in person when we do those wheels--

So it'll look similar to CougarX's?

Welcome! :D

nice x u got there u plan on doing mods to it

BTW: This is a 97.5 year model with the external EGR which means it has the GT-40P heads. :bounce: But still the stupid stamped manifolds. :( The passenger side ticks under load.

The factory sub sounds great also :D

A-hole. The sub is blown, actually dry rotted. Looking for a new one as we speak.

New problem. I got the front d-shaft put in and i still have a popping noise, it is much less violent of a noise but still a good pop. I'm thinking the left front cv axle. That seems to be where its coming from. Can anyone verbally explain how a bad cv sounds?

Bad deal. Had the ford store look at it and the transfer case chain is slipping.

Ok dropped the t case tonight, mountaineergreen has pics. cracked the case to find a massively stretched chain. Bought a used case today from a 96 sure hope its good!
