Building A Brush Guard/Bull Bar?

Has anyone made there own brush guard or bull bar? I've been looking online on how to make one but I can't seem to find anything. I want to make one for my 97 mountaineer and have it also have a winch plate on it so when I decide to get a winch I can put it on there. SO if anyone has some pictures of one they made or links to someone's I'd love to see them so I can have an idea on how to do it.
