I'm so sorry about your truck; and proud that she did her job of protecting you! If you need an excuse, you're welcome in Denver for your road trip, but you can't buy my X.
It was at an Apartment complex down the street from me and the Police Officer pictured was the one who responded to my call. I don't know how this'll play out, but it was better than finding a pot-o-gold.
It was a Pontiac Grand Prix with the dents all in the right spots, and a tell-tale sticker on the trunk lock.
So you found the car, that is great. Nice that it was the same cop too, no doubt he will make sure things are made right. Let us know when he makes an arrest.
Did it have a smear of cayman green on it and how is that shoulder?

I'm still licking my wounds. Sorry it took so long to post an update.
I've been Craigslist shopping for another one. If anyone knows where I can find another low mile first gen, please forward me the listing or PM me. Here's my preferences:

Eddie bauer,
Green/tan (basically the same one I had)
Low miles from an arid climate: Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada or equiv.
I'll be flying or hitchiking out then driving back. I've been searching Craigslist and Ebay for another.
I'll be transferring all my parts to the new one plus some goodies I haven't posted about yet
Arbitration with your insurance company or theirs?
If an insurance company will cover someone even when they cause then leave the scene of an accident, committing a felony hit and run, they're certainly getting their money's worth for that insurance payment.
Hope you come out ahead on the whole thing, somehow. Not that any amount would be worth losing the truck or getting hurt.
Do you think this is a situation of someone just posting the miles shown on the Odometer, or is it 85K actual miles? I've seen this more than not on ads. It's kind of Ironic that's how many miles my original X' had when I purchased it 14 years ago.
Never the less, I'm going to contact them today. Much appreciated.

Camp Verde is in the middle of nowhere. If they were homebodies who don't get out of their own town much, the mileage is very likely correct.
Ask to see pictures of the interior. See if you can get a shot of the pedals. If the vehicle has 185,000 there is going to be a lot of visible wear on the seats, and brake pedal pad.
Nothing, I don't need it. Where I'm from, :bdrunk: and , and lending a hand go a long way. PM me, we can work something out.
I'll have it in a short term rented shop next door to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for a couple months after I find another Explorer. If you want to try and make down for a day, maybe two. You could use the shop and some tools to remove it. At least be out of the elements.
