They are basically the same as the Duff early bronco arms. From what i understand, the guy at Cage used to work at JD and was the original designer (maybe something like that, cant remember?). Anyhoo, i have ran them in the Duff form on my EB for 6 years now and think they are really nice. They still dont have a bit of slop in the heims and mine was even a daily driver for a few years.

why do the wedges bolt to the arms? Different degree's available?

Actally I was just poking around on there site. The owner is the Drummer for "LIVE" to funny! :D

78-79 D44's from F150/Fullsize broncos have a HP section, with cast radius arm wedges.

To get rid of the wedges, you have replace the tubes.

Nice...

650 is abit pricey for me...considering i'm going to make essentially the same for um...the price of the heims.

I may have to "duplicate" their a ra mounts though :D

That I understand but why does the radius arm pictured above bolt to the wedge mount?
My understanding that different bushings are avail for caster adjustment, so why would you need to have removeable wedge "mounts"?

Talk about a band that dissapeared!

Ease of removal???

4 bolts to remove the axle from the ra as opposed to 8????

Maybe it's jut more blingy...blingy is good right? lol

the more I look at it it must be for construction reasons, looks lik the wedge mounts are cast and the arm is plate, so bolting them together is a natural solution. :)
Probably serves no other purpose?? I dunno...

I kind of have those. I've got the extended arms with heims, which is custom and not made by CAGE, but I do have the CAGE radius arm mounts. :D

I do like the mounts...may have to get dad to throw some box steel on the laser cutter and make me some :D

Mine will be bigger, stronger...faster though lol

They add bushings between the cast peice and the arm, so you can have more flex w/o wristing an arm.

more flex? or better ride with heims? :P Very cool.

Thanks Jefe! hahaha now its obvious to the eye, since you pointed it out...

I have seen pics of the JD style arms where they have broken in two places. First place was at the cast wedge section and the other was at the point where the tube and plating are welded. Seems bushing the wedge would releive the binding when flexed being you can't wrist them like the stock arms. BMXking has best of both worlds with his setup. Stock arms extended and heimed and I think wristed also. Check his thread for pics

The one thing I like about the CAGE arms is that tubing is above the axle centerline so the mounts on the frame end don't have to hang down as low as stock arm mounts. But I don't have to worry about those radius arm thingy's anymore

well if yo go to the link given by Stic-o, pretty much covers all the bases with their design. $650.00 doesn't sound to bad considering the materials used. One day, when I win the lottery I'll buy a set.

They look very stout. Unless I read the info wrong. I would rather have the arms coming straight back from the axel rather then angling up. This would give a better ride. This way with the arms straight back instead of up, the axel will have an arc going up and back. If the back is higher then the front, it wants to push the axel forward and then to the back giving it a harder ride. Try this simple experiment. (Love to use models before I make things. I get a better working knowledge of it) Hold a pencil at both ends using both hands. Hold the right hand up higher then the left. Lets say the right is the frame end. Now keep the right hand stationary while raising the left side up which would be the axel. You will notice two things. The line of arc does in fact want to go forward. You could even use graph paper and graph the arc to exact scale. Secondly you will actually feel the pencil/RA pushing against the right hand/frame. This is how you get a harsher ride with the arm transmitting the force of the bump going straight back into the frame and causing more stress on the arms. Now do it with both hands level. Now you can actually see that the left hand side does in fact go up without going forward and then to the back. Secondly you do not feel the lines of force going to the right hand side. Instead your shocks and springs are now absorbing more of the rotational energy of the bump and changing it into heat which is what the shock is designed to do. More bumps more heat. Now the RA, frame and the seat of your pants do not have to absorb that much. When I finish building mine I hope to have them with this design concept. OK back to my coffee

What you're saying makes sense, but its not that big of a deal unless you're running a ton of lift. They're not at much of an angle with the typical 3.5" or even 5.5" spring.

What I want to know is the RA tube solid or is it hollow?

From what i understand the main tube is something like .30 wall 2" DOM, with the "insert" being .30 wall and a smaller diameter. The box area is .25 plate. I know mine were unGodly heavy and shipping was a b!tch.
