My wife got stoped by the CHP yesterday and he said that the windows were tinted.
Does the 2003 explorer come stock with tinted windows?
Anyone know what we need to do to prove we did not add tinting?
We are the Third owners of the car.
Plesea help.

Well Explorers came with tinted rear windows from the factory but somebody might have tinted the fronts. Might wanna check the inside of the front windows to see if there any film on em. And it doesn't matter who tinted them
if they tinted there tinted. Provided there no film present then you have to go to CHP station and let the front desk officer have a look at it and write it off

Thanks to all

I turned out that there was tinting added to the windows.
I is now removed

...it is also why some tint shops charge more for their tinting...as they will install the tint and not only guarantee the labor and material, but if you get a ticket, they will strip it for you, you get the ticket signed off, and they will re-install the tint at no extra charge...;)

wow where did you find that shop?? i wanna know??

on a side note its only ten bucks to have it signed off and 40 bucks to have it retinted. which 50 bucks is 50 bucks i know but at least its not like a 300 dollar ticket....

...and it's like 40 bucks a window to pay to have them stripped...i have a shop by me that takes care of it...might i add it is also convenient to have 3 neighbors who are local police as added insurance...;)

...the shops charge about triple but it is the very best tint and a lifetime on labor, product, and ticket warranty...did i mention it is also lifetime insured if my dog or someone else scratches the tint..now mind you, this is in my ranger and not my project X, lol...:D
